Win 4 tickets to the Ice Castles at Silverthorne

When this Colorado attraction made it on my radar this winter I was so excited. This is the type of unique event that I love to share with my readers.

This amazing structure, located in Silverthorne, Colorado, is built entirely by hand using ice and water as the sole building materials.  There is nothing like it in the country and quite possibly the world. You can visit the castle during the day or night, and in the evening hours it is lit by 360,000 lumens of light. The ice castle is in constant flux, so that if you visit in the beginning of the season and then again at the end, the place may look very different. According to the attraction’s website, “depending on the night temperatures, wind and amount of snow, the Ice Castle experience can change drastically from one day to the next.”

You can see why I was so happy to discover this creation in HeidiTown’s backyard!

Brent Christensen, of Utah, is the artist behind this spectacular creation. He went from experimenting with icicle formations in his front yard to amuse his children, to building large ice castles for a resorts in Utah.

The Ice Castles at Silverthorne are located at the Town Pavilion in Silverthorne, Colorado,  approximately one hour and 20 minutes west of Denver just a quarter mile off of I70. The attraction is open 7 days a week. Adult admission is $10, children 12 and under are $7.50 and children under 4 are free. You can read more about this attraction at their website by clicking here.

Now here’s your chance to win 4 tickets to The Ice Castles at Silverthorne. Just leave a comment here on the blog letting me know that you’d like to win and you’ll be entered. A winner will be chosen at random on Friday, February 24 at approximately 3 p.m.

Good luck!

I would love you to come to the Ice Castles with your whole family and a few friends–up to ten people. Please print this off and bring it with some ID and we will give you a free family pass at the ticket booth. This pass will be good for the morning and again at night with the lights on. Hope this will bring you the much needed break.
