Walt Disney and Pixar Animation are at it again in the 3D animated film “Up.” This is a cute story, but potential moviegoers should know it involves some very adult themes, such as growing old and dying. I chose not to see it in 3D, because I’ve found most 3D movies give me a headache. Even in 2D, it’s a fun film and children and adults will enjoy this one.
As of July 12, 2009, “Up” is still in theaters, and I recommend seeing this colorful animated film on the big screen. I give it a rating of 4 out of 5.

I saw it with my daughter last week and cried twice. She laughed her ass off at the funny parts. Ed Asner was perfectly cast. It had such a bittersweet and wise message for everyone with a dream. Pixar never fails to offer movies for all generations in one flick. It probably won’t be in theaters much longer but I’ll be adding this to our DVD collection.
I have to admit I think I shed a little tear at this one too. Always a bit embarrassing to cry at a Pixar, but they are very good at what they do! Glad you and your daughter both got something out of it.
