I am headlong into a summer of weddings so renting “27 Dresses” seemed appropriate. I almost didn’t make it through this silly movie.
First, I will point out a serious irritation that I also pointed out about “Dan in Real Life.” I am sick and tired of movie characters living a perfect life, but hating it anyway. In this movie, Katherine Heigl plays Jane, a beautiful girl with the perfect job, the perfect New York apartment and the perfect statuesque body. Despite all this unbelievable perfectness, she struggles with her love life. She is in love with her boss who is not in love with her. A good looking writer likes her (James Marsden), but she can’t see it. She has been a bridesmaid 27 times, apparently because she has a lot of superficial friendships and can’t say no?
Within 20 minutes, I could not feel sorry for the main character of this movie. I didn’t even like her! It was all down hill from there.
Heigl can’t act her way out of a bridesmaid dress and Marsden’s character is flat (he was much more believable as a fairytale prince in “Enchanted“).
So to all your girls who loved this movie (and I know some of you personally), fire away - I can take it. This is as unbelievable as “Enchanted” and at least that storyline involved fairytale characters.

Hahaha! That sums up my thoughts perfectly, except you forgot to say that James Marsden is super hot.
I didn’t like Jane either. I mean, really. I thought, get with it, girl, and move on with your life. And that little sister and the weirdo boss? What was *that* about?
