NewWestFest kicks off its 21st year today in Fort Collins, with more than 50 bands taking the stage in several venues, including a Kids Music Adventure stage located at the Fort Collins Museum Courtyard on College.
Perhaps the most famous musician playing the festival is Academy Award and two-time grammy award winner Melissa Etheridge, who will headline the Mountain Avenue main stage at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
NewWestFest is a free community festival. Running August 14, 15 and 16, it is held in Old Town Fort Collins. The event attracts nearly 125,000 people to the downtown area where they can partake in music, arts and crafts, delicious food, beer gardens and more.

I’m a huge Melissa fan – followed her work since the first little album and have seen her several times. I wish I paid better attention. I would have loved to seen this concert. Sadly, I need more time to coordinate evenings out:-)
