Win 2 tickets to the Oscar Party at The Kress

The Kress is rolling out the red carpet for YOU!

The Kress Cinema & Lounge is located in downtown Greeley, Colorado and it’s a HeidiTown favorite! This is a classy lounge with a well-appointed theater. They have live music in the bar area on the weekends and old and new movies nearly every night of the week. They also have a full lunch and dinner menu. It’s worth the trip to Greeley to check this place out! You can read my previous review of The Kress  HERE.

The Kress is throwing their annual Oscar Party on Sunday, February 27 at 5:30 p.m. The event includes a red carpet, appetizer buffet, Oscar ballot and cash prizes and the 83th Academy Awards on the big screen and the smaller televisions in the lounge. Tickets are $20 each.

You can win 2 tickets to the Oscar Party at The Kress by leaving me a comment here. Tell me which of the ten best picture nominees you think should win. If you haven’t seen any of the best picture nominees (and shame on you!) tell me your favorite movie of the past year.

A winner will be picked randomly on Thursday at 9 a.m. Good luck!

  1. As a stay-at-home mom, I freely admit my time and budget is limited and I don’t get out to the movies much, but I love watching them at home. So it will come as no surprise that the only Oscar nominee I’ve seen is Toy Story 3. Just by trailer/hype alone I’ll take a wild guess for a winner and say it’ll be The King’s Speech.

  2. I LOVED True Grit! I thought it was fantastic. I’ve only seen a couple others on the list, but if that one wins I’ll be pretty happy.

  4. I know I’ll lose all my indie-street-cred for this, but I think Inception should win!

  5. True Grit, but I’m watching Winter’s Bone tonight, so I reserve the right to change my mind.

  6. The Fighter but Black Swan is a close second. I’m pretty sure my husband is rooting for True Grit. I just don’t like Western movies so I’m a little biased. All 3 of these are excellent movies.

  7. I would have to guess either True Grit or Black Swan, neither of which I have seen yet, simply because I’ve been hearing people obsess about those the most ever since they came out.

  8. I am rooting for Inception, even though it hasn’t received anything this awards season. However, Black Swan is a close second!

  14. By the way, I forgot to include the Mayor’s pick for Best Picture. I want The King’s Speech to win. It was the best film of last year, but I think the Social Network will walk away with the Oscar.

I think the Academy will love the timing of The Social Network and it’s social and cultural relevance.

I thought TSN was a good movie, but The King’s Speech had eternal themes and I thought the entire cast was brilliant.

I have seen all the Best Picture nominations except for Toy Story 3. LOL! Which seems to be the one most of my readers saw! 🙂 True Grit would be my pick for third runner up.
