What Mom really wants this Mother’s Day

Buffets and flowers are nice, but if you really want to impress mom this Mother’s Day, take notes. I wrote a similar post several years ago, and thought the subject was due for an update. Here are my picks for the 3 gifts your mom would love to receive this Mother’s Day.

1. Bed & Breakfast

How about buying your mom the gift of a get-away? This gift is about making memories and that’s the best kind of gift.

We have many wonderful and unique bed and breakfasts throughout Colorado. Consider a gift certificate for a bed and breakfast get-away to the charming town of Berthoud, Colorado. With nice shops to browse, several dining options and even several day spas, a relaxing stay at the Berthoud Inn will make mom very happy.

2. The Gift of Membership

My mom has a green thumb and if she lived nearby I’d purchase her a membership to the Denver Botanic Gardens. If your mom loves music rather than plants consider a season pass or half-season pass to The Colorado Symphony or your town’s local orchestra. Lots of museums have year-long memberships available, including the Denver Art Museum. The gift of membership is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

3. Dinner Theater

If you’ve been reading HeidiTown for any length of time you know that I love dinner theater. I love it because it represents an entire evening of entertainment and you never have to leave your seat. The spring and summer lineup at our local dinner theater establishments is outstanding. I’m especially excited about The Wizard of Oz at Boulder’s Dinner Theater. It runs May 18 through August 31, 2013.

Guys & Dolls is on stage now at Candlelight Dinner Playhouse in Loveland, Colorado, followed by The Sound of Music playing June 27 through September 1, 2013. At Midtown Arts Center in Fort Collins, it’s Legally Blonde playing through May 19^th.
