One of my favorite events of the year is just around the corner. This is a beer festival for everyone, from the hard core craft beer connoisseur to the casual beer drinker. For example, new this year at the Colorado Brewers’ Festival in Fort Collins, alongside their standard beers, brewers will bring along a few kegs of special beer – stuff the real beer geeks will want to try. For just one extra token, you can purchase a taster of this extra-special brew.
I enjoy this event because it’s a laid back day of beer drinking and laying in the shade listening to live music; two of my favorite things. There are also food vendors on the premises serving up the greasy goodness that I crave when I’m drinking beer all day long. I’m sure there will be some healthy food vendors too, if you go in for that sort of thing.
This beer festival is one of the first of its kind in Colorado. In fact, this is the 24th Annual Colorado Brewers’ Festival. It takes place in the beer-loving community of Fort Collins. Just an hour north of Denver, the city is home to 11 breweries.
If Colorado Brewers’ Festival seems like a good reason to spend a weekend in Fort Collins (and it is) I’ve written a 3-Day Fort Collins itinerary, designed to help you make the most of your weekend in FOCO.
There will be 40 breweries represented at this year’s festival with more than 80 beers available to tasting. Doesn’t that make you want to sing?

In addition to all that golden goodness, there will be lots of music. I’ve actually discovered some really great bands at the Brewers’ Festival, and there are usually a few band names I recognize in the lineup as well. This year’s headliners are Euforquestra (global dance music/afro beat) and the Freddy Jones Band featuring Jeremy Lawton, keyboardists for Big Head Todd & the Monsters.
The music never stops at Brewers’ Festival and the schedule/lineup of bands go here.

Hope to see you there. In fact, if I do see you there, I’ll buy you a specialty taster! If you are on twitter, follow #CBF2013 for info on the fest. And tweet from the event, there may even be prizes in it for you from the fest!
