Note from the Mayor: I rarely participate in sponsored posts, but when Holiday Inn hotels approached me, I said yes. I really like the Holiday Inn brand and feel that it is a good fit for HeidiTown citizens, so without further ado, the following post has been sponsored.
I was set to cover Country Beer Fest (formerly Epic Beer Fest) in Denver on the same Saturday as my friend Zea’s birthday, so we decided to make a weekend of it.
We were booked in two rooms at the Holiday Inn Denver East – Stapleton. We arrived to discover a contemporary hotel with a friendly staff.
Ryan and I were in an inviting room on the 11th floor with a king bed and an outstanding view of the Denver skyline and the Colorado Rocky Mountains. I’d strongly encourage anyone booking a room at the Holiday Inn Denver East – Stapleton to request a west facing room – the view will not disappoint.
Located in the Stapleton area of Denver, where the city’s old airport resided before it moved north, this hotel still serves as an airport hotel, running shuttles every 30 minutes.
We met Zea and her friends for dinner at  Spur Bar & Grill, a relaxed restaurant on the main floor of this Holiday Inn hotel. Spur has a small selection of Colorado craft brews on tap and a menu featuring American fare.
After dinner we called two  Uber cars to transport us to the beer festival. Uber is one of my new favorite things. While it can be difficult to get a cab in Denver, getting an Uber car takes mere minutes.
Once the beer festival came to a close, we kept the party going at Casey’s Bistro & Pub in Stapleton. It was karaoke night and the entire bar ended up singing Happy Birthday to Zea – a highlight of the evening. This fun, Irish bar is within walking distance of the Holiday Inn Denver East – Stapleton so we walked back.
The next morning we had to leave early so we didn’t get to have breakfast at Quebec’s Bistro at the hotel. We also didn’t have a chance to use the lovely hotel pool. It would probably be worth staying again just to enjoy a swim.
There is lots of great shopping around this Holiday Inn hotel. In fact, it would serve as great headquarters for a multi-day holiday shopping spree in Denver.
Also, if you fly frequently, check out their Park Stay and Go package that includes covered underground parking for up to 14 days with a complimentary shuttle service to and from Denver International Airport.

Well, since we don’t live in Denver it was a nice and easy get way for us, but it would make a good staycation place for Denverites – for sure. Thanks for stopping in HeidiTown, Aimee! It’s an honor to have you here!

I’ll have to keep that in mind next time we fly out of DIA.

I would stay just for the view but sounds like it’s got more than that going on. Nice to know of a place not downtown for friends coming to visit.

Thanks for stopping by HeidiTown, Barb. And yes, it’s a great place for out of towners, especially with the airport shuttles.
