There is nothing, not even free beer, that makes me more excited than a wildlife sighting, and we had one of the best ever this past weekend in Steamboat Springs at our vacation home, Angler’s Cabin.
We arrived back to Angler’s Cabin, a Moving Mountains property, in the early afternoon to find that we had visitors – visitors of the moose kind. A mamma moose and her two yearlings were taking a break in the front yard of our home, within inches of the front windows.
We carefully went indoors and began snapping photos and watching these lazy moose. They stuck around for awhile, eventually making their way to the back (street side) of the house where the munched on anything they could find.
Seeing these moose made an amazing stay at Angler’s Cabin even more memorable.
This 4-bedroom vacation home with additional apartment is a truly unique property. The theme of this modern mountain mansion is water. Not only is there an inside endless lap pool, but also a large pond that is stocked with fish.
The pond provides lots of Steamboat summer activities in the form of fishing, canoeing and even stand up paddling boarding. Have you always wanted to try yoga on a paddle board? Here’s your chance to try it in absolute privacy.
On this winter trip the inside swimming pool was a highlight. We got in every day and on Sunday, before we check out, I got up and slipped in the pool where I took the following video.
This stunning, contemporary vacation home is unlike anything I’ve seen in the Colorado mountains. The home is filled with so much light from dozens of windows that one almost has to wear sunglasses on the inside.
Every morning we woke up to amazing sunrises over the ski resort. Nothing beats a Colorado sunrise in the mountains.
While it’s situated within five minutes of City Market and just minutes from the Steamboat Resort, this luxury vacation home feels secluded. With moose neighbors and water activities on both the inside and outside of the house, this could be the perfect Steamboat vacation rental for your family this summer.
Thank you to Moving Mountains for allowing us to experience this amazing home.

Just imagine if you had moose and free beer! I love moose, Steamboat and swimming, so this really looks like a place I’d enjoy visiting.
