This summer, Rialto Theater, Loveland’s 102 year old, downtown jewel, will present the Trailhead Sessions. This will be a new series of four concerts featuring soulful harmonies, toe tapping blues and throw back vibes.
By the way, Rialto Theater is one reason we live in Loveland. When we first drove through, we were so pleased to see an historic theater still open in downtown.
When Rialto Theater staff asked me to consider giving tickets away to these concerts, I immediately went to YouTube and looked up each of the bands playing the series. I knew Hot Buttered Rum from various festivals around Colorado, but I wasn’t familiar with the line-up.
I am now, and I’m excited!
Four bands are coming to downtown Loveland this summer during the Trailhead Sessions on Thursday nights.
June 9th is The Sweet Remains, a band whose sound sends shivers down my spine. Harmony is a sort of magic that takes me to another place, and while I don’t consider myself to be spiritual, this feeling is as close as I get. The Sweet Remains has harmony in spades.

On June 3oth, Ryan Shupe & The Rubber Band will take the stage at Rialto Theater. There is one word that explains my enthusiasm that Ryan Shupe is coming to Loveland and that’s “fiddle.” He’s actually a fifth generation fiddler, and there’s no instrument that I love more.

Fast forward to August 4th when Rialto Theater presents Remember Jones. The word that came to my mind as I surfed this band’s videos is ENERGY. This is the type of music that has me dancing around the living room any time is is played on vinyl.

The last band has been on the bill at mountain festivals here in Colorado. It’s Hot Buttered Rum on August 11. Get ready for the banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar and all manner of jamming.

These concerts, $19 balcony, $28 general, $43 VIP, aren’t just great Rialto shows, they are an excellent excuse for a night out. A date night in Loveland, perhaps. That’s our plan. Or, if you are from beyond Loveland, experience the city! Go to Visit Loveland for hotel lists and restaurants, etc.

The Rialto is a very special place indeed! It is cool talking to old folks who grew up in Loveland (looking at you Barry Floyd) and watched movies there as children. I would love to see Raul Malo play the Rialto someday. Not quite the Ryman Theater, but close enough for me.

Love the Rialto and such a great lineup. I love the funky sound of RememberJones and the Rubber Band reminds me of my roots in the Ozarks with their bluegrass sound. Such a hard choice I’d love to see them both.
