Loveland Drive-In food truck food HeidiTown.com

When I first heard about the pop-up movie theater in Loveland, I was skeptical. It seemed like it was only for families and I am not a mommy blogger. I don’t even have children (well, not the human variety). However, when I saw the movie lineup for the first weekend, I thought this might not be too bad. I was still wrong—it was great! Loveland is 45 minutes north of

Liven Things Up This Winter with Food & Festival Fun. HeidiTown (3)

‘Tis the season when winter sets in, and not in a good way. Here on Colorado’s Front Range, we are experiencing a dreary day. No snow is falling and it looks like Seattle-weather (something I am all too familiar with from childhood). So what’s on tap to bring joy to this gray, wintry world?  If I am planning, I am happy. A plan means something to look forward to, and

Don't be Bored This Winter Festivals Abound. HeidiTown

Updated: January 10, 2024 In 2019, we attended the 41st Snowdown, Durango, Colorado’s winter festival. To write that we had fun is an understatement. We lived it up from Human Foosball at Animas Brewing Co. to slopeside shenanigans at Purgatory Resort.  The 45th Snowdown runs from January 26 through February 4, and here’s why you should go.  Embrace the Theme This year, the festival theme is Peace, Love & Snowdown

2019, A Year I’d Rather Forget, But… HeidiTown (Snowmass, Colorado)

This has been a rough year. I was diagnosed with Atypical Migraines in June after four visits to the emergency room in May. Today, months later, we still haven’t gotten to the bottom of why this is happening although the frequency of full-blown migraines has gone down. The good news is that I have a new appreciation and empathy for anyone suffering from chronic pain.  While this year was marred

Guest post by Angela Rose If you live anywhere near Denver, Colorado, or are at all familiar with the world of craft beer, you’ve probably heard of the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) organized by the Brewers Association (BA). Now in its 38th year, the GABF is the nation’s largest ticketed beer festival and commercial competition, drawing together hundreds of breweries and tens of thousands of beer lovers for three

Beyond Colorado 12 Years of HeidiTown. HeidiTown.com (5)

I feel like I’m writing one of these every day. I think it is because time is moving so fast.  I’ve been the Mayor of HeidiTown for 12 years, yes, I started the blog in 2007, and wow, that feels like a long time ago. I don’t think I even know exactly what a blog was in the mid-2000s.  This year has had its challenges. The main one being that

Featured Festival Loveland Oktoberfest HeidiTown (1)

‘Tis the season of Oktoberfest and I love it. There’s nothing better than beer, brats, sauerkraut and polka on a crisp fall day. Okay, fall actually doesn’t start until September 23, but there have already been a few brisk Colorado mornings this month. New Location for Loveland Oktoberfest This year, the crowd-favorite will be held at Loveland’s Fairground Park just south of downtown at 700 S. Railroad Avenue. The new

In its 41st year, at Greeley Arts Picnic you can do all these things and more.  Greeley Arts Picnic is held under the big trees at Lincoln Park. It’s a good reason to round up the entire family, including grandma, and head to downtown Greeley and enjoy a summer weekend of art and

Dogs & Beer in Berthoud, Colorado: 7th Annual Hops & Harley

Today’s featured festival is a nonprofit event I’ve been involved with since the beginning. You see, the event incorporates two of my favorite things—dogs and beer—and 100% of the proceeds of this festival go to Harley’s Dream. Harley had a dream of ridding the world of puppy mills, and I was lucky to have met him during his lifetime. An effective spokesdog against puppy mills, he made a big difference.
