Colorado Farm & Art Market Harvest Dinner menu

I love this time of year. Farmers’ markets overflowing with colorful produce, folks find ways to preserve the flavors of summer and harvest dinners blossom on tables throughout the country. One such dinner is happening at Margarita at Pine Creek  in Colorado Springs at the end of the month. A friend who attended this dinner last year said the Colorado Farm & Art Harvest Dinner was the best meal she

One of my favorite things about being a Colorado travel writer is stumbling across roadside restaurant gems. I honestly never know when or where it’s going to happen. We’re always looking for a good place to grab a meal, so if you know of a hidden roadside gem, please leave me a comment below. Without further ado, here are a few our favorite roadside finds. The best burger I ever ate in Colorado

The best burger I ever ate was at The Bucksnort Saloon in Pine, Colorado. I always get the Forest Fire, a buck burger with a thick smear of cream cheese and piled high with jalapenos. It’s the perfect amount of juicy and creamy with just a bit of heat. It pairs nicely with a light lager. You go here for a burger, but The Bucksnort is a legendary Colorado saloon.

Today, instead of a festival, I’m highlighting a series of events that take place three out of four Fridays each month in Old Town Fort Collins. The Friday series started with First Friday Gallery Walk, a program that takes place in cities around the country. The Downtown Business Association then added Foodie Fridays, to embrace the city’s culinary culture, and then Shop Late Friday, as a way to promote downtown

Ryan and I have been adhering to today’s #TravelTuesday tip long before HeidiTown was founded. When we’re traveling, whether it’s somewhere close or a continent away, we always splurge on one gourmet meal. When we were first dating, one of our first weekends away was spent in Friday Harbor, Washington. Just a ferry ride from where we were both living at the time, this charming isle, part of the San

ice sculpture at Taste of Loveland.

If you love food, and who doesn’t, you won’t want to miss the Taste of Loveland. For just $40 you’ll be able to spend hours tasting food from 30 different restaurants. Plus, you can taste beer and wine from over 40 vendors. Yes, it’s an evening of gluttony, but you’ll be indulging for a great cause, and that makes it okay. This year is the 9th Annual Taste and it

9 to 5 press picture Candlelight Dinner Playhouse

Who could forget Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda in the 1980 woman empowerment movie, “Nine to Five,” the memorable film about three fed-up coworkers who kidnap their chauvinistic boss and turn around the office in his absence? We saw the stage play at Candlelight Dinner Playhouse last week, and while they have big shoes, and in one case, a big bra to fill, the three lead actresses in

Hanging out with friends at Bear River Bar & Grill at Steamboat Resort. HeidiTown.com

Everyone knows Steamboat Springs, Colorado is a great place to ski, in fact, it is world class. I’ve gotten to know Steamboat fairly well over the years, as we have good friends who live in town. I’ve had the pleasure of eating at many of the Boat’s restaurants, soaking in the hot springs and attending an assortment of festivals. Here is my two-part guide to some of my favorite things

ristkindl Market 7 - HeidiTown

This year’s Denver Christkindl Market is bigger and better than ever. We stopped by for dinner and a little shopping before our Colorado Symphony concert on a Friday night. After all, the market, locate at Skyline Park in downtown Denver is just a block and a half away from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Christmas Markets pop up all over Europe during the holidays, and the Denver Christkindl
