"Native" exploring what it means to be a Coloradan

It is theater season folks, and you don’t have to go far because there’s lots of good theater happening right here in Northern Colorado. This past weekend I saw “Native,” in its first week at Nonesuch Theater in Fort Collins. Haven’t been there? Nonesuch is located at 216 Pine Street, just off College Avenue between Walnut and Jefferson. It was my first trip to Nonesuch, and this 49-seat theater is

Pourhouse opens in Loveland

Review originally published on August 20, 2009.   Downtown Loveland has a new restaurant at 124 E. 4th Street. The former Cipoletti’s  restaurant is now the PourhouseBar & Grill.    Pourhouse opened  yesterday, and I was there to check it out.   The first noticeable difference is the outside of the building – it has been painted black. The inside has been altered only slightly.   Walls have been removed

NewWestFest is

"Julie & Julia" the perfect excuse for a girls' night

As my girlfriends will tell you, I need no  excuse to organize a girls’ night out, but “Julie  & Julia,” coming to theaters this Friday, is the perfect excuse! For a  brief, yet wonderful,  moment in time, I belonged to a recipe club. At our first “club” meeting, we spent three delightful hours talking about all things food-related: our favorite televisions chefs, our culinary inspirations and our cooking success and

Adelita's still closed

Adelita’s Fine Mexican Food (Loveland, CO) UPDATE: As of March 25, 2009, Adelita’s is still closed. A fire in December forced the closure. The building is currently undergoing renovations. There’s no word on when Adelita’s is scheduled to reopen. I have tried to call their telephone number, but no one answers. UPDATE: As of April 24, 2009, Adelitas is NOW OPEN!!!   I have not been in yet, but

I highly recommend The Lyric Cinema Cafe

I have recently added this  establishment to my Blog Roll. It’s called the Lyric Cinema Cafe and it is located at 300 E. Mountain Ave. in Fort Collins, Colorado. I am currently writing an article about this cinema for the Berthoud Weekly Surveyor and will post it here when it runs. This cinema shows great artistic movies you will not be able to find anywhere else in Northern Colorado.  The
