A Note from the Mayor: Keeping up with Colorado summer fun

If you are anything like me, you plan ahead – especially when it comes to the busy summer months. On that note, I’m going to do my very best to give you a heads up on Colorado  summer festivals well before they happen. This way, you can fill up your summer calendar with lots of fun and not miss any of it! I won’t always get ahead of stuff… sometimes

The Mayor reveals secrets

With festival season heading into full swing in just a couple weeks, I thought I’d share a few things with my readers. First, I want to remind everyone that HeidiTown is not a calendar of events. I do not, nor will I ever be able to keep track of every festival that occurs in Colorado. And quite frankly, I don’t want to. Also, I rarely write about fundraising events. I

Sunday Afternoon Drive - Berthoud, Colorado

Spring has sprung in HeidiTown. The birds are singing, the fields outside of town are greening up and there’s a feeling of warmth in the air. This time of year puts me in the mood for road trips and Sunday afternoon drives. Metromix Denver recently released an article naming the 25 small Colorado towns to visit under $100. Manitou Springs is one of the Mayor’s favorite Colorado towns, in

A Look Back: The Mayor's favorite blog posts of 2010

In the Spring of 2010, the format of HeidiTown changed. Instead of concentrating on movies, theater, books and the occasional restaurant review, I turned all my focus to events and festivals around Colorado. I love this new format and it seems to be a real hit with my readers. In the upcoming year there will be more changes in store. With the help of a NoCo web designer extraordinaire I’m

Top 5 Christmas Gifts

1. The gift of dinner & theater. This is the gift of an entire evening of fun, including dinner and a show. We are lucky to have several excellent dinner theaters nearby, including my favorite, Boulder’s Dinner Theater. You can read my past review of one of their shows by clicking here. The Hotel de Paris in Georgetown, Colorado

Museum: a building or place where works of art, scientific specimens, or other objects of permanent value are kept and displayed. With the fall season up on us, and the festival and event season slowing down, individuals and families will be looking for ways to fill their weekends with fun. So I’ve decided to introduce a new section in HeidiTown dedicated to museums. In these posts, appearing on the front
