"Watchmen" – wickedly funny & wildly entertaining

watchmen-movie

Rated R

Directed by Zack Snyder

Starring Malin Ackerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson

Heidi’s Illustrious Rating: 4

Word of Warning: It may be based on a comic, but this one isn’t for the kiddos, or for those with an aversion to bloody violence or sexual situations.

Filled with recognizable actors, who I just couldn’t quite place, “Watchmen,” is a 163-minute, engaging theater experience.

  1. A great flick. Don’t take preconceptions with when you go and you can enjoy this whether you are a watchmen diehard or a dark knight fan. I liked that funky soundtrack as well.

  2. Steve,

You are absolutely right. Movie goers cannot go into this one thinking they are going to see “The Dark Knight.”

However, I think a person can enjoy both movies. This one is a little more quirky, which I prefer.

Quite frankly, I feel “The Dark Knight” took itself entirely too seriously!

    Thanks for the post!

  4. While this is a movie I’ll probably never watch.. at least I know more about it other than it being a movie that was supposed to be made like 28 years ago.
    so thanks Heidi !

  5. This movie was incredible. Stylistically everything came togther beautifully, but so much different than other super hero type movies, which from trailers i was sort of expecting. I think the trailers misrepresent the movie and liken it to other comic book movies, which it is not. I’m sure a lot of people will be disappointed. For me it was a happy accident.
