There’s little need to find an excuse to travel, but a beer festival in a fantastic Colorado town is a good one. After all, what’s a more perfect way to celebrate fall than by drinking beer in Estes Park?
This is a great fall town because it’s less busy in the autumn, the elk are plentiful and sweaters are extra comfy in Estes Park. Did I mention that beer tastes better here too? It does, and I should know. We’ve been attending Fall Back Beer Fest since the beginning and it’s one of my favorite beer fests.

Why is this such a good beer fest? First, and foremost, while it’s a destination beer festival, it’s close, and there are lots of places to stay in Estes Park making it an easy getaway for beer lovers on Colorado’s Front Range. Also, now that the extensive construction on Highway 34 is complete and the road is open, it’s a breeze for people in Loveland, Fort Collins and all points north to get to the festival.
Secondly, the brewers like this one too, and that means they show up to at this event to pour their beer. Quite frankly, I’ve gotten tired of festivals where the beer pourers know nothing about the beverage they are pouring. It’s bad for the festival goer and it doesn’t reflect well on the brewery. You will not find that happening here; at Fall Back Beer Fest you’re invited to meet and chat with brewers.
At Fall Back Beer Fest it’s all about the beer and for the sixth year they are working to educate the public on aspects of this malted barley and water combination. The festival always occurs in conjunction with Learn to Home Brew Day and there will be brewing kits given away during the event. In addition, there will be hop farmers, yeast labs, malt producers and brewing equipment fabricators to help you make better beer at home (or simply to educate you about the process).
Again this year, a free trolley service will run between Bond Park and the Visitor Center to Fall Back Beer Fest during the event. This makes it extra easy to get to and from the festival that’s held in the top-notch Estes Park Events Center ajacent to the fairgrounds.
Fall Back Beer Fest is family-friendly and there are always strollers in attendance and cute kiddos dancing to live music. So grab your friends and family and plan to join me in Estes Park, Colorado this November 3 for one of Colorado’s best beer festivals.
