This time of year puts me in the mood for road trips and Sunday afternoon drives. Metromix Denver recently released an article naming the 25 small Colorado towns to visit under $100. Berthoud Day Concert in Berthoud, Colorado

Small town festivals are a great way to get to know a place, and this one is no exception.  On June 5, 2010, Berthoud, Colorado, a town of 5,000, will be celebrating the 56th annual Berthoud Day. The town is situated 45 miles north of Denver and 66 miles south of Cheyenne. Berthoud’s nickname is the “Garden Spot of Colorado,” and it lives up to the name with tree-lined streets

Berthoud alive with the sound of music, tomorrow night

Wildfire Community Arts Center‘s Eighth Annual Summer Film Festival is drawing to a close, with only two films left. Rained out for much of the season, tomorrow night the Center will be showing one of my personal favorites, “The Sound of Music.” Next Friday night’s film is “Despereaux” (August 28). It will be the last show of the season. The movies begin at dusk and are shown in the courtyard
