Last week there wasn’t one movie I wanted to see at the theater, but on behalf of my readers (wink) I went to “Eagle Eye.” The movie was awful, but I love tearing into movies I don’t like (it’s therapeutic), so it was all worthwhile.
This week I have one of those good dilemmas. I actually want to see three of the movies opening today! At the top of my list is “Appaloosa,” starring Viggo Mortensen, Ed Harris, Renee Zellweger and Jeremy Irons. I’m a sucker for a classic Western and anything starring Viggo Mortensen, my not-so-secret crush.
Second on the list is “Blindness.” Ironically, this movie stars my husbands not-so-secret crush, Julianne Moore and is based on a book by one of my husband’s favorite authors, Jose Saramago. Early reviews of “Blindness” have been mixed, but I am intrigued by the concept.
Third is “Nick & Norah’s Infinate Playlist.” Unfortunately, my husband, who is my movie viewing partner, is really sick and tired of Michael Cera. I don’t mind the kid. Sure, he always plays the same character, but at least the character isn’t as annoying as the character Jonah Hill plays over and over.
I don’t know if my bank account can fund three movies in one weekend, but that probably won’t stop me. My husband, however, may stop me from seeing “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist.”
