Have the owners of the Reader’s Cove, a Ft. Collins, Colorado bookstore, been drinking a little too much Captain Morgans?
I recently received an email from the store outlining upcoming events. This Saturday, September 19th, the store is celebrating “Talk Like a Pirate Day.” And guess what, after a little research I discovered September 19th really is International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Honestly, I can’t make this stuff up. Here is a link the official Talk Like a Pirate Web site: www.talklikeapirate.com. The site even has a How To section in English and German, and includes a top 10 list of pirate pick up lines.

Which reminds me: it may be time to re-read the Earthsea trilogy. Read it in 8th grade.

I think it should be “Kidnapped By The Pirate of Your Choice Day” and I choose of course Captain Jack Sparrow. Husband is very annoyed with this tired old fantasy and would just say “keep her” when ransom note was delivered. !
GDC @ the Rustic Oven WAS good, the half price wine was the real deal but they need some off of wells too. They even had any pizza gluten free for my sister and all pizzas half off too, nice atmosphere, we’ll be back. Afterwards we went to Sephora for makeovers, have decided whenever we do Ft Collins GDC we’ll do the makeover scene – wonder if we really looked like movie stars or was it the wine??!! Oh, the half a glass of wine bit is a nice offering if you’re between the one or two glass need (or 2 or 3!!) Jordan @ Bent Fork will sell you a half for $1.50 but it’s still closer to a full glass… what a guy! GDC’s in Estes next time, we’ll carpool. -L
