A Note from the Mayor

Dear HeidiTown Citizens & Tourists,

Find the sunscreen, bug  repellent  and slip on your flip flops because it’s time to festival! The season is in full swing starting this month, and I wish I could clone myself in order to keep up with all of it, but alas…  just please remember that HeidiTown is not a calendar of events, but rather “stuff the Mayor likes.”

That being said, Facebook is an easy way for me to share with you the festivals and events that do not get a full write-up here on the blog.  If you haven’t joined the HeidiTown Block Party on Facebook, please do:

Also, being a fan on Facebook means you’ll be among the first to hear about contests/giveaways.

If you missed my blog for Beet Street this week, you can read it here. Sometimes this monthly guest blog will  simultaneously  be posted here, but not always. This week’s post was all about June festivals in Northern Colorado.

As a reminder, one of my favorite Colorado festivals starts next weekend. Colorado Renaissance Festival runs June 11 through July 31st. Although this isn’t the typical small town festival I like to write about, believe me, it’s worth the drive to Larkspur, Colorado.

Last, but not least, I’d like to thank my newest HeidiTown sponsor, Engaging Loveland. This organization is a non-profit taking a leadership role in serving the needs of the great Loveland, Colorado area as advocate and catalyst to develop and support community-wide events and celebrations such as SummerFest in the Rockies (July 8-10, 2011). Mark your calendars and be sure to visit Loveland that weekend as there will be lots of events going on including Loveland Loves BBQ.

Thank you to Engaging Loveland and thank you to all my readers.  It’s going to be another amazing Colorado summer!  Get out there and have some fun!!!

Sincerely,

~The Mayor

P.S. On a suggestion from one of my readers, I am working to create a HeidiTown Google Calendar that will be available here on the blog. Of course, it will not include all the festivals and events in Colorado, however, it will list all those events and festivals I share on the blog and on Facebook, so stay tuned!

  1. So who won the tickets?

    1. The first winner was unable to use the tickets, and the runner up was Chris Palmer. I always add a comment at the bottom of the post telling everyone who the winner was (and winners are contacted via email). Thanks so much for entering! Lots of other good stuff lined up for give aways this summer so keep trying! Thanks for being an involved citizen of HeidiTown. 🙂

  2. The Renaissance Festival starts next week!? Wow! I have to go this year. I have been slacking and not making the drive down. I will check with my usual suspects and round them up for a road trip.

    Thanks for the heads up!

thanks for being so thorough in your posts too!

    1. Thank you Jan!!!

Renaissance is such a great time. I hope you can make it. Remember that you can get 2-4-1 coupons for opening weekend at participating Wendy’s restaurants. I know the Wendy’s in Loveland usually has them. 🙂

  3. Thanks for the great round up you did of the summer music scene. Isn’t there usually free music on Sundays in Old Town? I cannot find any reference to it this year. Thanks for making sure we’re all up to date on fun.
