Loveland Oktoberfest on Facebook
Each year, this event gets a little better, and this September is no exception. Loveland is excited to welcome Pech & Schwefel, a band from Germany. That’s right. They are traveling all the way to Loveland, Colorado, and will play Loveland Oktoberfest on both Friday and Saturday nights.

With a toe-tapping sound, Pech & Schwefel mix traditional polka songs with some recognizable songs like Sweet Caroline and Purple Rain. There are some examples of the band’s vibe on their Facebook page. I know I don’t want to miss them, and you won’t either.
There will be a wandering accordion player and other musicians as well.
In addition to the music, vendors like Sweet European Treats will be selling their wares—even an Oktoberfest vendor selling must-haves like steins, suspenders and feathered hats. Plus, festival goers will enjoy German cuisine from Berlin Kraft Food Truck. They are making German Döner Kebabs special for the event.
Of course, like any good Oktoberfest, there will be beer. Five Loveland breweries will be pouring including Grimm Brothers Brewhouse with their popular Oktoberfest beer, Farmers Daughter. Other breweries include Verboten Brewing, Rock Coast Brewery, Big Thompson Brewery and Crow Hop Brewing Co.

A costume contest means you should dress in your finest dirndl and best lederhosen. The competition is slated for Saturday. Other contests may be held, like the stein-hoisting contest, so come ready to compete.

Prost! I’ll see you there.

Used to live in Germany. What a lovely story. Perhaps we can attend next year!
