Started in 2017, Barbarian Feast is now the must-have ticket of the season. While we took a brief break during the pandemic, this will be our sixth year of holding the events under the tents at Grimm Brothers Brewhouse in Loveland, Colorado.
Offerings always include axe throwing, a live drummer(s), belly dances by Troupe Sidysaan, a photo booth, and more. These talented people in entertainment donated their time to this event. Personally, without belly dancing and drums, I don’t believe it would be a true feast!
One hundred percent of the profits from Barbarian Feast go to The American Legion, Post 2000, Loveland, CO.‘s Veterans Assistance Fund. But how is that money used? When there is a need, this money helps fill that need. For instance, there was an elderly Loveland veteran who was going to be evicted from his apartment because his VA disability money wasn’t available yet. The Loveland Veterans Assistant Fund paid his rent for a month and kept him in his apartment.
Perhaps this isn’t glamorous or newsworthy, but it is a reality for many who live among us. And can mean a lot to the recipient. Now, on to the event!
New this year, we’ll have a Mead Merchant visiting from MeadKrieger in downtown Loveland. Participants can imbibe both Grimm Brothers Brewhouse beer, mead, and nonalcoholic products at the feast.
Other creative guests may be in attendance as well, but we can’t give everything away.
We can tell you that this year there will be a Barbarian T-shirt. Order yours ahead when purchasing a ticket and pick it up at the feast. You’ll want to get your hands on one every year.
Meat is served on platters, family-style, although little barbarians must be over 21 to attend. Also, Barbarian Feast is a BYOK affair, that’s Bring Your Own Knife. Silverware is not provided and neither are napkins. Who ever heard of a barbarian dabbing his or her face with linen or even Brawny?
The meat provider will be Mercantile Exchange & Provisions in Mead, Colorado. If you haven’t been to this meat market and deli yet, I highly recommend a visit. The deli has items like roast beef and pastrami sandwiches, while the butcher shop has some amazing cuts of steak. My go-to is their taco meats (spiced and ready to cook). For drool-worthy meat photos, follow them as The Merc on Facebook.
Every year, we party for a good cause, and party we do. Barbarian Feast is adult fun that involves a little fur, a few weapons, fistfuls of meat, tankards of beer and mead, and so much more.
This is a sell-out event each year, and tickets are low, so act fast.
