Author Sandra Dallas coming to Reader's Cove

Author Sandra Dallas  has been called the “quintessential American voice.”     She is a New York Times Best Seller and on April 13, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.  she will be at Reader’s Cove in Fort Collins, Colorado, speaking about her latest book, “Whiter Than Snow.” I’ve had the pleasure of hearing Dallas talk several years ago when she was the keynote speaker at the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers

HeidiTown Rant: Serving breakfast, open at 8 a.m.?

I have a major complaint. If a restaurant wants to get in on breakfast service they need to open at least by 7 a.m., maybe earlier. Most people work. Yep, it’s true. And most working people need to be at work by 8 a.m. My husband and I love going out for breakfast on a weekday, especially a Monday. We are business owners, so it gives us some time to

Monroe's Lounge Bar in Loveland, Colorado

I discovered Monroe’s Lounge this past summer when I was invited to attend a Friday night networking group for people on Twitter.com. My husband and I were quite surprised when we found the place to be much more than just a hotel bar. Located inside the newly remodeled Best Western on the southwest corner of I25 and Eisenhower (Hwy 34), Monroe’s is a classy bar ideally located for networking groups

Mad about Mandolin Cafe

I recently discovered Mandolin Cafe  at 210 East 4th Street in Loveland, Colorado.   This relatively new addition to downtown, is a funky coffee shop  with a musical soul. Last Thursday evening,  Stoll Vaughan, a singer/songwriter and stellar guitarist  played a free show  at Mandolin Cafe. Vaughan had approached owner Alex Zoll about playing at the  coffee shop  after Vaughan opened for The Elders at The Rialto Theater in Loveland,
