New Years Eve in Northern Colorado

New Years Eve is one of those odd holidays where just about any sort of celebration seems to be appropriate as long as there’s plenty of champagne on hand. Some people throw costume parties, others put on classy parties, and some just go out drinking and barely remember the clock striking midnight.

If you live in Northern Colorado there are a few celebrations you can go out and enjoy this New Years Eve.

Fort Collins – 15th Annual First Night

$10/person (6 & under, free)

Hit downtown Fort Collins for a night of entertainment at this annual event. This year’s line up features more than 100 performances including live music, dance, magic and theater. Greeley – New Year’s Eve at The Kress


If you read this blog regularly you’ll already know that I am a huge fan of The Kress Cinema & Lounge located at 817 8th Avenue in downtown Greeley. You can read my previous review of this place by going here.

From 9 p.m. to 1 p.m. on December 31st, The Kress will be hosting a New Year’s Eve party complete with music from The Matt Pack, dancing, hors d’oeuvres, Sleepless in Seattle in the theater, a champagne toast at midnight along with the Time Square ball drop on the big screen. Loveland – New Year’s Eve party at the Ice Rink

$12, includes skate rental, face painting & souvenir photo

6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Looking for a way to kept the kids entertained on New Years Eve? The Promenade Shops at Centerra Ice Rink will be hosting a party on ice complete with fireworks, prizes, figure skating demonstrations, ice-skating and dancing to a live DJ. For more info go to


In addition to these events, many local restaurants, from Estes Park to Windsor will be featuring live music all evening and a champagne toast at midnight.
