Monroe's Lounge Bar in Loveland, Colorado

I discovered Monroe’s Lounge this past summer when I was invited to attend a Friday night networking group for people on Twitter.com. My husband and I were quite surprised when we found the place to be much more than just a hotel bar. Located inside the newly remodeled Best Western on the southwest corner of I25 and Eisenhower (Hwy 34), Monroe’s is a classy bar ideally located for networking groups

"The Ghost Writer" - bring a pillow (for either sleeping or smothering purposes)

Rated PG13 Directed by Roman Polanski Starring Ewan McGregor, Kim Catrall, Olivia Williams, Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Hutton Heidi’s Illustrious Rating: 2.5/5 Word of Warning: I’d recommend being well caffeinated before viewing this one. Say what you like about Roman Polanski, but the guy does know the craft of movie making. However, I think this one could have been so much better. Robert Harris, who wrote the book “The Ghost,” adapted

"Green Zone" - just might turn you green

Modern day wild west portrayed in "Justified" on FX

“Justified” caught my eye because it stars one of my favorite sheriffs. Timothy Olyphant, formerly Sheriff Seth Bullock on the HBO series “Deadwood“ is back as a modern day gunslinger in this new drama on FX. Olyphant stars as US Marshall Raylan Givens, a man reminiscent of Olyphant’s former character, Seth Bullock. Givens is a tough lawman, who plays by his own rules and wears a white hat. In last

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The name of this town may sound a little Swiss, or German, but the truth of the matter is  that there  is quite a lot of Irish-ness around here. From the Mayor and her husband Ryan, here’s a little ditty from a HeidiTown favorite, the Kansas City band The Elders.   Sláinte! To find out more about The Elders visit their Web site at www.EldersMusic.com.

"Remember Me" breaks the vampire out of his coffin

Review by Susan Richards “Remember Me” is a poignant little film never intending to be major box office fodder, much less to bump a giant like “Alice in Wonderland” out of first place. So why all the scrutiny and pressure? It happens to be the indy drama Robert Pattinson chose to shoot between New Moon and Eclipse; Twilight Saga movies two and three for the uninformed or uninterested. I

The Mayor lunches at Young's Cafe (Fort Collins, Colorado)

One day before we celebrate the passing of Saint Patrick by drinking lots of green beer, the Mayor got a craving for Asian food. To quench this hunger I had lunch today at Young’s Café in Fort Collins, Colorado.   Apparently I am the only Northern Coloradoan not to have eaten at Young’s Café. The restaurant has been in open since 1987, and has been voted “Best Oriental Food” of
